The Icefields Parkway.
Hi everyone,
Here are a few of the images I took during a trip along the Icefields Parkway in September. The weather was gorgeous though I woke-up with ice on the tent at the Columbia Icefield. I hope you like them.
Philippe.

Re: The Icefields Parkway.
OH MY GOD!
I've been thikning of going there very recently and now I REALLY wish I could! Your pictures are a stunning depiction of the feilds! You mentioned a tent? were you on a tour or did you just go on your own? Camping up there this time of year must require some special gear?
Thank you so much for sharing! Keep it up!

Re: The Icefields Parkway.
I went on my own in early september while the weather was still bearable for tenting (most of the time!), and most campgrounds were still open.

Re: The Icefields Parkway.
neat - it looks like i'm going up there tomorrow, but i think i'll get a hotel in jasoer rather than tenting it *lol
any recommendations while I'm going through that area? I've never been and really have no idea where to stop or where to go.

Re: The Icefields Parkway.
I really fell in love with Mount Edith Cavell and the Angel Glacier (Photos 2 & 3). I am not sure if the road is still open at this date, you should check first. I would recommend investing in Darwin Wiggett's pocket book "How to photograph the Canadian Rockies". For $14.95 it's packed with practical info and recommended spots for photography in Kananaskis, Banff, Jasper, the Kootenays, and Yoho.
A hotel or heated RV is the way to go at this time of year. Check the Pine Bungalows on the east side of Jasper. They're affordable and good for a short stay. Have fun and let me know how it went.
